Okay, so maybe we shouldn't jump the gun but you can't help to get excited when your first wedding of the season, which happens to be in mid-March, pulls in some gorgeous 50 degree weather. Since we are kicking off our official wedding season today at The Hilton City Center, let's look at a few of the hot trends for this coming year.
Do it yourself food bars - Yum! From S'mores to Ice Cream Sundaes, guests love customizing both food and drinks to make the perfect snack. This definitely goes beyond a candy table.
Still dabbling in the vintage theme, copper takes its turn as an accent replacing silver and gold. It also pairs extremely well with the Pantone color of the year, Marsala to add warm depth.
While there are a few different trends happening such as dramatic backs and even sexy leg slits. We love the overlays that are coming into the picture.
I can't wait to work with the 2015 Pantone color of the year on an upcoming wedding.
"This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors."

We think it's absolutely perfect especially for fall weddings, especially in some of the historic venues around town. Here is some inspiration!
Here is one area of your wedding that you can really be creative while not breaking the bank! Find a cake topper that adds some meaning or ties in the theme of your day. No more boring bride and groom figurines here!
I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. There can be lots of good inspiration gathered from that site but many times, it's hard to recognize that not all of those crafty projects are ever quite as easy or look quite as well done when completed on your own. I have to say though that this past weekends wedding at the Historical Society had lots of Pinterest inspiration and thanks to the mother of the bride, everything came out perfectly. Take a look below at a few very unprofessional photos taken by myself from this beautifully vintage inspired day.
Here's the next day film edit from last weekends wedding with Jenn and Chris at the fabulous Turner Hall. Credit is given to Justin from Black Dog Studios for this great work. More to come soon including parts of the reception and Dare to Dream and others hard at work flipping the ceremony space into a room fit for dinner and dancing.
Surprised at the amount of purple suddenly popping up all over the bridal scene? Don't be - it's the color of the year! Pantone recently announced its 2014 color of the year as Radiant Orchid stating that it "inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health". Keep your eye out for purple hues as they start to make their way into all areas of wedding day design from food to favors. Here's a few of our favorites.
